C/ CORRESPONDENCE
All translation, transcription/Voice-Over work etc. are usually received and sent by email, Whatsapp or fax in case email is not
possible. Ordinary mail (postal mail) can also be used as a means of exchanging information, but it is not the best way to
conduct business in the field of translation and interpreting. It should be noted that the use of e-mail allows translators to work
wherever they are.
D/ WORK PROCESS
a) Project management
The process is much the same as it is for any kind of project management:
Identify the various components of the assignment (translation, interpretation, editing, transcription, proofreading, and voice-over);
Secure the services of the individuals who possess the right skills to assume the responsibility of the different tasks;
Provide guidelines and resources to all participants before starting work;
Perform the appropriate quality control once the assignment has been completed.
We invariably use the same (i.e. only one) translator, interpreter, editor, or transcriber for a given project. Large projects with sensitive deadline may require the use of more than one translator, one editor or one transcriber – a not uncommon occurrence and one that requires diligent resource management and quality control.
For repeat clients, we do our best to assign the same people (translation project resources) to their assignments. This is to ensure that the translator and other translation team members are familiar with the terminology in common use by a given client.
The turnaround time is governed by the volume of words to be translated as well as the deadline imposed. A translator can translate between 250 and 350 words (1 page) per hour, subject to certain limitations. As an example, a translation of 1000 words (4 pages) or less can invariably be turned around within 24 hours.

b) Editing and Proofreading
Once the translation has been completed, a proofreader, who is also a professional translator, will bring a fresh perspective to the text. Grammatical, syntactic and stylistic aspects of the text can be improved in the process. This additional approach during the process is the key to meeting your linguistic requirements.
